Shots and Stuff

Crockett went to see our sweet Dr. Sultemeier on May 27 for his two month check-up. He is growing like crazy! My baby weighs 12 lbs 10 oz and is 23 in. I cannot believe that in 2 months time he has ALMOST doubled his birth weight and grown ALMOST 4 inches!! He also had to get his 4 immunizations, 3 shots and 1 oral. The first shot went ok (I did NOT watch!) and the second 2 really bothered him! His face turned bright red and he tried to scream, but nothing came out, his tongue just shook in his mouth. It was awful and I was so relieved when it was over. The nurse was wonderful and so fast, for which I was very appreciative. He still did not feel very good today and ran a temperature of about 100. Poor baby.

We also took our first long distance road trip last weekend to see Chris' cousin, Leslee, get married. I went to the wedding, while Chris and Crockett stayed in the hotel room... The wedding was very pretty. Crockett did so good in the car and at the hotel. He slept until 5 a.m. without waking up! It startled me that he had not woken up, but I guess he was just worn out! Crockett also got to meet KK and Uncle Buck for the first time (Kelly and Brendan). They live in Washington D.C. and have not been able to come see the little guy until now! Crockett definately enjoyed his Auntie and Uncle. Brendan even got him to laugh, which doesn't happen too often yet!

Congratulations to my sisters, Monica, for being done with school and officially becoming a stay-at-home mom, and Rachel, for making the move to Dallas! Monica, I am so excited for you and I can't wait for our first road trip with 2 or 3 boys in tow :) Rachy, I can't believe you live in Dallas! That road trip mentioned above will probably be to visit you.... find us some great places to shop and are you ready for all of us :)

TWO MONTHS OLD!!!

Dear Crockett Christopher,

My sweet little baby boy, you are two months old today!! You are growing so fast and it is so bittersweet. I feel so blessed that you are so healthy and growing just like you should be, but I am so sad you are no longer that teeny, tiny baby I gave birth to just two months ago. You are starting to sleep much better. You give momma about 3 or 4 hours to begin the nights and then it is every two hours, but that is ok with me. I know there will come a time when you will sleep through the night and do not need me to rock you, but I love it when it is just you, me and the noise machine. You still make the most precious sounds while you sleep; I could just watch you forever! You have begun to smile quite a bit (very rarely, though, when I have the camera out...) and twice you have even laughed! It was so precious it made me want to cry. You would laugh and hunch your shoulders forward... your daddy and I were laughing too! You have grown out of many of your infant clothes and can even fit into many of your 3 to 6 month clothes. I think they will fit you for a while though, they are still a little big! Your friend Blake, our friends James and Brooke, let us borrow Blake's John Deere boots! They are so cute on you and your daddy loves them, but they fall off right now. Maybe in a month they will fit! You have gotten to play with Cade Luig, but we haven't gotten both of you to stay awake at the same time. Your favorite time of the day is bathtime. You will splash and splash and you always pee within two mintues of getting in there :) It always makes me laugh! Being naked is your favorite thing, but I am always a little worried you are going to give me a "golden shower" as you have been known to do a few times.
Your daddy and I love you sooooooo much and I think our love grows each and every day. You have been such a blessing in our lives and we can't imagine life without you. Thank you for making the past two months the best times of our lives.
